Access to and utilization of quality information in rural development programmes in bama zone of Borno state

L'objectif général de l'étude est de déterminer la qualité des informations dont disposent les populations rurales ainsi que les agents de développement rural pour les programmes de développement rural. Cela a été réalisé en analysant les activités de transfert d'informations dans les divers programmes de développement rural dans la zone de développement de Barna de l'État de Borna. Plus précisément, l'environnement informationnel des populations rurales ainsi que des agents de développement rural de l'enquête a été déterminé. Le rôle des "bibliothécaires publics" dans le processus a été examiné et les problèmes qui s'opposent à la libre circulation d'informations de qualité pour les programmes de développement rural ont été identifiés. L'étude a impliqué 161 agents de développement rural,12 "bibliothécaires publics" et un échantillon de 400 ruraux . Les résultats des diverses analyses ont montré que la majorité des ruraux sont analphabètes et tous sont impliqués dans l'agriculture en tant qu'agriculteurs à temps partiel ou à temps plein. Un nombre important d'entre eux sont également impliqués dans des activités économiques non agricoles. Ils ont exprimé leur désir d'information dans tous les grands secteurs du développement rural intégré ainsi que dans les activités socio-culturelles et récréatives. Ils l' ont obtenu par l'intermédiaire d'agences de développement rural plutôt que par l'intermédiaire de bibliothèques/centres d'information communautaires, mais davantage auprès d'agents de vulgarisation agricole, de personnes instruiteset les chefs de village au sein de leurs communautés.
