Synopsis

Impact studies usually explore the effects of policy change; on targetted variabl s over time and thus, show the extent to which they" hav been successful. This study is a macroecnomic study and it assessed the impact of the structural adjustment piogramme (SAP) on the agricultural sector in Cameroon. This was done by comparing the performance of the sector_before the programme (precisely from 1980 to 1987) io that d rina the programme (198 -• 1992), that is "the before and during approach" has been used. The analytical tools used in the study were simple descriptive statistics, indices,·growth models, m ltiple regression analysis and particularly_the Chow test model to test for structural changes.
